CARMEL HELENE

Carmel Helene is an American singer - songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. She wrote, recorded, produced and released her self-titled 2010 debut album (EP) in 2010, and has toured extensively as a vocalist with acts including Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, Michael Bolton and Luis Miguel.

Other musicians with whom she has collaborated include Sheryl Crow, Marc Nelson (Az Yet), Robert Brookins (Earth, Wind & Fire), Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin), Mark Isham, Andy Goldmark (Celine Dion, Carly Simon, Pointer Sisters), John Novello, Kashif, Randy Jackson (Mariah Carey, American Idol), Jeffrey Steele, Ed King (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Kristine W, among others.

Carmel has contributed to a number of other recordings including the film "National Lampoon's Gold Diggers", and co-writing and performing two songs in the ABC, TV movie "Christmas at Water's Edge". She has appeared as a backing vocalist on shows such as American Idol, The Voice, Dancing with the Stars, The Tonight Show, David Letterman, American Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Much Music Awards, American Academy of Country Music Awards, Teen Choice Awards, Good Morning America, The View and many more. Her voice can also be heard in national commercials and television including McDonald's, C.S.I., Jimmy Kimmel Live, NBC Super Bowl, BET Jazz, Perrier, Iomega and Friedman's Jeweler's. In 2012 through 2016, she spent a good portion of her time on the road with French rocker Johnny Hallyday as a featured background vocalist for his European tour.

Her love of rock music and acoustic, organic instruments led her to a natural evolution into country music. Having grown up with a banjo-playing mother, while listening to Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton, Carmel has been making frequent trips to Nashville for writing and recording with producer Jim Kimball (Reba McEntire, Faith Hill). Signed to Shatz Music Group in 2014, she released her new country EP “New Frontier” in July 2016. Carmel has performed at the Ship kicker Country Music Festival in Long Beach, Coastal Country Jam in Huntington Beach, Oktoberfest festival in Maryland on both the acoustic and the main stages, and twice at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. to promote her first single “One foot out the door” for halftime at the Washington Wizards game, as well as a special postgame performance. The city’s local news station WUSA9 did a special story on Carmel’s rise to fame. She has appeared on Sirius/XMRadio on the Maggie Linton Show where she was interviewed and performed live. Her single has been added to Pandora, and the “FIP” French radio and played throughout France.
